Rebrand
The Washington NFL franchise has officially changed its name, due to the term 'Redskins' being too offensive. I decided this was a great opportunity to rebrand the American Football team and introduce a new and exciting aesthetic.
The updated name comes from one of the two national animals of USA. The American Bison represents strength and patriotism. The typeface also symbolises this with the hidden Washington Monument situated within the 'I'.
In order to bring a new life into the football team I traded the Redskins red for a more Royal blue. This allows the team to still be recognisable with its Redskins yellow, whilst still presenting something fresh. The blue, yellow and white is lifted straight from the Colonial outfits worn by George Washington himself.
